EDI: Electronic data interchange

ERP: Enterprise Resource Planning system

Lanes: Shipping routes between an origin and destination

LSP: Logistics Service Provider

LTL: Less-than-truckload shipments

Managed Logistics Services: Comprehensive transportation services that provide a single source for managing and optimizing logistics

Modes: The means of transporting the product from source node to demand node, a.k.a. origin to destination

Multimodal: Spanning all shipping modes, including bulk/ocean, ISO tank, container, truck and rail

Origin-destination pairs: Point of pick up and point of delivery for freight

Region: Geographic locations where product is produced, stored, converted or delivered

TL: truckload shipments

TMS: Transportation Management System software application
