Meet some of the experienced chemical supply chain and global logistics experts at Odyssey Logistics.
As a seasoned expert in chemical supply chain management, Riggs has developed a near sixth sense when it comes to developing chemical logistics procurement strategies. His complete background in all facets of chemical transportation management has afforded him a functional knowledge of all segments of managing chemical logistics.
“I enjoy rooting out opportunities for increased value for our clients, and developing solutions that make sense from both a strategic and a tactical perspective,” Riggs said. “At OL&T, there are so many tools available to really make an impact on our clients’ bottom line.”
With a background in chemical engineering, Riggs has worked in all modes of transport, as well as in project analysis, procurement, operations, and safety. His chemical manufacturing knowledge comes from working in multiple chemical plants, including membership on a plant’s management team.
“My strongest experience lies in chemical logistics procurement strategy,” Riggs says. “That’s where the rubber hits the road, and it’s because I’ve worked with all overland modes and know how they operate.” Those modes include rail, LTL, TL, and tank truck, and Riggs continues to work with them as Senior Vice President, North American Overland Logistics.
Riggs also has strong expertise in chemical transportation carriers, who they are, their infrastructure, and their strengths and weaknesses. He uses that insight to our clients’ benefit when he reviews industry data and conducts optimization modeling.

In his nearly 20 years working in supply chain management, Russ Marky has delved into all major supply chain functions. His diverse tapestry of experience adds remarkable depth to the team at OL&T, and provides a unique perspective on customer support.
Marky joined OL&T with the acquisition of RELY Software where he focused on demonstrating the value of supply chain applications to RELY customers through implementation and support. Since joining OL&T, he’s been providing customers with the daily support they need to make sure all of their shipments expediently reach their destinations. Additionally, Marky has an extensive knowledge of the Transportation Management System OL&T deploys, which assists the OL&T team in delivering exceptional performance for its customers.
For Marky, it all comes down to having a quality customer service staff. “Being a service company, one of our greatest assets is our people,” explains Marky. “Having seasoned leaders and operations staff make all facets of our client engagements run well.”
Being able to quickly understand and relate to the challenges that our clients’ customer service, production and loading personnel face in today’s competitive environment helps immensely, he adds. “That experience, along with our best in class applications, tools and work processes allows OL&T to reduce our customers’ logistics workloads, bring consistency to their work processes and provide creative yet cost conscious solutions for their shipping needs.”
Marky relishes having a client thank the team for helping them with what they thought was an impossible shipping requirement. “We handle the ‘impossible’ every day for our customers and who doesn’t like positive feedback for a job well done?” Marky says. “Our staff embodies OL&T’s value proposition: delivering excellent customer service while achieving the savings, optimization, efficiencies and operational best practices, all tailored for each client.”

Mike Sadowski is a veteran of web-based supply chain software, having worked in developing supply chain technology for the chemical and process industries for almost a decade. He’s published several articles on supply chain technology and is often asked to speak at conferences on this subject.
Sadowski honed his craft creating applications at the transportation management software company RELY Software before OL&T acquired it in 2003. Since the formation of OL&T, Sadowski has helped lead the creation of the company’s software applications and developed tailored applications for OL&T clients.
“I think one thing that sets OL&T apart is our ability to rapidly create tailored solutions for our customers. It’s really a collaborative process,” Sadowski explains. He points to the configurable functionality as one of the platform’s greatest strengths.
“We can, for example, tailor a view of data for a customer that shows that data in a way that makes sense to them, over the web,” Sadowski says. “At the same time, we have a software development staff with deep expertise in our customers’ supply chains and supply chain systems in general. So we often find that customers can achieve a great deal of competitive advantage by working with us to extend our systems with a few incremental enhancements.”
Not a lot of other organizations have the expertise and the platform to accomplish that scalably and for a reasonable cost, Sadowski adds. “As a result, the customer can leverage what OL&T already has, while getting a solution that is tailored to their needs and which lets them beat their competitors.”
