Tuesday, October 10, 2017 – California has declared a state of emergency in counties currently under siege by fast-moving, deadly wildfires. Thousands of homes and buildings have been destroyed and an estimated 25,000+ people were evacuated from Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties. Officials report that fire crews are still battling at least 16 fires and an estimated 115,000 acres have burned since the weekend. Dry conditions and strong winds have helped fuel the outbreak.
This type of event often results in pickup and delivery delays and disruptions in the affected regions. Operations may be suspended until it is safe to resume service.
