As a result of a decline in marine fuel prices, Matson will reduce its fuel related surcharge by four percentage points, effective this Sunday, September 4, 2022.

The surcharge for Hawaii service will be reduced from 54% to 50%; for Guam/CNMI service, it will be reduced from 55% to 51%; and for Micronesia service, it will be reduced from 59% to 55%.

Matson is continuing its longstanding practice of giving its customers 30 days’ notice for upward rate adjustments and passing along decreases as soon as possible. As always, we will continue to closely monitor trends in fuel costs and adjust the surcharge accordingly.
