Chief Executive Officer and President, Bob Shellman and Cosmo Alberico, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Odyssey Logistics & Technology (OL&T) joined an exclusive group of executives for the BG Strategic Advisors (BGSA) Supply Chain 2012 Conference. The conference took place January 25-27, 2012 in Palm Beach, Florida and offered an opportunity for executives to share their unique perspective on the logistics, transportation and supply chain industry.
Speakers from all segments of the supply chain presented on topics of interest and industry trends, including the 2012 outlook for logistics. Discussions included a look back at the rapid change in 2011 that brought capacity issues, growing shipper volumes and a spike in capacity prices.
Other topics included the current market perspective for trucking, logistics, railroad and intermodal services and global growth trends for freight forwarding.
It was the consensus of the conference participants that the demand for transportation management services would continue with modest growth in 2012.
“Customers are still intent on cutting down on the number of service providers they contract with,” explained Cosmo Alberico, “That gives an advantage to those companies that offer a broad breadth of logistic services for a ‘one stop shop’ solution.”
