Odyssey Logistics & Technology Acquires Interdom Partners

OL&T continues strategic acquisitions of market-leading companies to further build its multimodal capabilities and infrastructure

DANBURY, Conn. (Apr. 19, 2012) – Global lead logistics provider Odyssey Logistics & Technology Corporation (OL&T) announced today that it has acquired Palos Heights, Ill.-based Interdom Partners, one of the largest railway intermodal companies in the U.S. serving the domestic and international shipping community. The company manages a significant railroad network that drives efficiency and carbon footprint improvements.  Interdom has experienced double-digit growth over the past three years.

“OL&T is very pleased to add Interdom’s intermodal services to our portfolio. This strategic acquisition facilitates our drive to expand our capabilities supporting both the domestic and international shipping markets,” said Robert Shellman, president & CEO, OL&T. “The entire Interdom staff and management will remain with the company and continue under the leadership of Rick Rudie, Interdom’s founder.”

Rudie pioneered independent stack train service and the first independent double-stack service for steamship carriers. Interdom now provides intermodal services to 60 international steamship lines, and numerous non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCCs), freight forwarders, custom house brokers and beneficial owners.

“Being part of OL&T allows Interdom to continue its expansion with excellent synergies for our customers and suppliers,” said Rick Rudie, founder and president, Interdom Partners. “We expect a seamless transition into the OL&T organization.”   The acquisition of assets and business of Interdom, along with its 50 employees, was made by Interdom LLC, a wholly-owned affiliate of OL&T, which will maintain operations at the Interdom offices in Palos Heights, IL.

“We continue our focus on providing broader service offerings, a larger transportation network and advanced technology to lower costs for our customers. Over the past 18 months, OL&T has concluded five acquisitions of companies that are each leaders in their market segments, and Interdom has demonstrated its ability to deliver significant market value in a U.S. transportation sector that will continue to expand rapidly in the coming years,” Shellman said.

The Odyssey logistics network spans throughout North America into Europe and Asia serving all modes of transport with coverage in more than 200,000 transportation lanes and 250 ports worldwide.  OL&T deploys a proprietary technology platform for its clients and suppliers facilitating collaborative activities that drive significant cost savings from the network while improving visibility of cargo movements and customer service.
