OL&T Facilitates Major Transport Agreement for Grace in Dubai

DANBURY, Conn. (Mar. 8, 2010) — Odyssey Logistics & Technology Corporation (OL&T), a leading global logistics and transportation service provider, announced today the expansion of their work for W. R. Grace & Co. (Grace) to include the management of the specialty chemical and materials company’s Dubai transportation program. This project will improve the efficiency of services for Grace and their customers.

OL&T and Grace have worked together since 2004 on global transportation and logistics. In the current project, OL&T leveraged its technical expertise and market knowledge of Southwest Asia to optimize the transportation process and successfully reduce the fixed costs associated with Grace’s transportation operations. The new transportation project has been implemented to support logistics activities at Grace’s facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority, a major business hub of the Middle East located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Grace has manufactured, marketed, and sold products to the Middle East region since 1982.

“OL&T combined its past success and experience with Grace using its deep local knowledge and capabilities to deliver a meaningful solution to Grace’s challenges in the region,” said Kevin M. Land, Vice President, Global Solutions, OL&T.

“This is an excellent example of working together to deliver value across our networks. Grace is focused on environment, health and safety, quality and costs, and partnering with OL&T facilitates the drive to these goals,” said Thomas M. Brossart, Director of Global Logistics & Trade Compliance, W. R. Grace & Co.

Grace Regional General Manager Gianni Marnini who worked closely on this project from its inception said, “This project has been good for Grace. Outsourcing our internal fleet and changing our former provider are well on track. We did the right thing by moving away from fixed-cost pricing to a full-variable-cost model.”
