News: Service Alert: Train Derailment in Fonda, New York : 6/27/13 A derailment in Fonda, NY is affecting freight traffic in the area and could cause delays of up to 48 hours for shipments over that route. Authorities say about two dozen cars were derailed earlier today, sending two people to the hospital for minor injuries. No chemicals have been found though fire, EMS, and hazmat crews were on the scene. Cleanup efforts may close portions of Route 5 from Route 334 in Mohawk County and Route 10 in Palatine over the next couple of days.
