May 21, 2019 Severe Weather Alert: Multiple Tornadoes & Flash Flooding From Texas to Missouri As many as 19 tornadoes reportedly impacted central Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri and Arkansas Monday, 05/20/2019. The severe weather brought destructive high-speed winds, heavy rain and large hail. Flash flood emergencies have been issues for areas in the impacted zone: www.weather.gov The National Weather Service warns that the severe thunderstorms with tornadoes and heavy rain threat shifts east Tuesday, 5/21/2019, “Severe thunderstorms are forecast to develop from the mid-Mississippi River Valley south into the ArkLaTex on Tuesday. These storms can bring large hail, damaging winds, a few tornadoes and flash flooding. Residents should heed any warnings issued and follow local forecast office social media pages for updates.” More than 4 million people were considered to be in harm’s way early Tuesday morning from Texas to Missouri as forecasters warned of even more pending severe weather to come. Further flooding and damage to infrastructure are expected in the impacted area and will add to the service delays and destruction even after these violent storms come to a close.
