On Thursday, February 26, 2015, leading transportation professionals from throughout the country convened for the Traffic Club of New York’s (TCNY) 109th Anniversary Annual Dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York, NY. The Traffic Club of New York, founded in 1906, is an organization of logistics professionals from the maritime, intermodal, rail, motor carrier, port, forwarding, customs, warehousing and allied distribution fields.
Chairman of the Board of Odyssey Logistics & Technology Corporation, Admiral Straw, was the key note speaker for the event. In his speech, Admiral Straw, commended the Traffic Club for its long history of charitable and civic activity, and shared his thoughts about challenging issues facing the U.S. and the World.
Admiral Straw has a distinguished 35 year career in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a three-star Vice Admiral in 1996. Admiral Straw held numerous operational and policy leadership positions at the Navy’s major logistics commands and was in charge of the Navy’s logistics planning for material and ordnance support to the Navy and Marine Corps during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm from 1900 to 1991. His military service culminated as the Director of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) from 1992 to 1996. The DLA is the nation’s only combat logistics support agency and primary provider of global supply chain support for all of America’s armed forces.
Since retiring from the Navy, Admiral Straw has held major private sector positions with outstanding results.
