Every LBT driver meets stringent criteria to achieve excellence in delivery performance and safe operation.


  • Almost 80% Owner Operators – 20% Company Drivers
  • Average Age: 47 Years
  • Average Driving Experience: 20.5 Years
  • Annual Turnover: 21.5% – Still One of the Lowest in the Industry
  • Completes a Profile Sheet Depicting Equipment Details, Chemical Experience, Operating Preferences, Personal Preferences and Revenue Expectations


  • Must Have a Satisfactory Background Employment & Criminal Background Check
  • Must Have Commercial Driver’s License WITH HAZMAT & Cargo Tank Endorsements
  • Must Be At Least 25 Years of Age
  • Must Have 2 Verifiable Years of Road Experience
    • TX/LA Terminals 1 Year Tank Experience
    • NJ/PA Terminal – No Tank Experience Necessary
  • A Driving History Comprehensive Review With an Emphasis on the Prior 3 years
  • Must Pass D.O.T. Physical
  • Must Pass Drug & Alcohol Screening Tests
  • Must Pass a Road Test


Regardless of previous experience, ALL MUST ATTEND this minimum three-day course, which uses written and visual materials and covers:

  • Introduction to LBT Colleagues and How/What They Do Relates to the Driver
  • Quality and What it Means to Linden Bulk
  • Completion of Driver Profile Data and Permit Forms
  • Communication Processes and Their Importance to Customer Satisfaction
  • Paperwork Processes and Procedures
  • Operational Processes and Procedures
  • Safety and Compliance to Include Security
  • Hazardous Materials (For HM 126F Compliance)
  • Insurance Reviews Including Driver Evaluation Profile
  • Drug and Alcohol Abuse
  • Customer Requirements and Expectations
  • Road Evaluation

Each section has its own testing where applicable to ensure the driver understands the training and to measure the effectiveness of the training process.
