Friday, October 11, 2019:
A powerful Typhoon is expected to hit Japan this weekend. The monstrous storm will bring the heaviest rain and winds the area has seen in over 60 years. In the preparation, the area has shut down stores, factories, subway systems and many airlines with flights to and from Japan.
Storm Hagibis currently has a diameter of 1,400km with wind gusts predicted to be over 240km/h, making the storm equivalent to a category 4 hurricane. The most direct path of the storm is expected to impact Tokyo, but vast areas of Japan will be unsafe from this expansive storm.
Service impacts are likely. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates when available.
