Friday, October 12, 2018:
Storm system Michael is expected to move off the Mid-Atlantic Coast and transition to a Post-Tropical as the storm races northward off the Northeast coastline. Heavy rain associated with Michael will clip parts of Southern New England through Friday afternoon and night. Many in the southeastern states are now attempting to recover from the devastation. Across the Southeast, infrastructure damage caused by down trees/power poles and flooding continues to heavily impact the area.
Freight transportation will be impacted by limited-to-no pickups or deliveries in some areas. Likewise, shipments currently in transit may be held until conditions clear.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has issued an emergency declaration permitting motor carriers and drivers to directly assist in transporting supplies, equipment, fuel, and people into and from the affected areas.
Odyssey will continue to monitor the storm and its potential impacts.
