February 4, 2022 Weather Related Service Update: Snow and Ice Across the Central U.S. Winter Storm Shifts to the Northeast The National Weather Service has announced the expansive winter storm will shift into the Northeast bringing heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain. The locations previously impacted by snow and or ice from this storm will experience below-freezing temperatures into the weekend which may prolong hazardous winter weather conditions and disrupted travel. Flash flood potential will impact southern Alabama into the morning. Thursday, February 3, 2022 Major Winter Storm Impacting Central, Southern and Eastern U.S. The National Weather Service has announced a large-scale and massive storm will impact Central, Eastern and Southern U.S. today. Heavy snow is expected from the southern Plains to northern New England, while heavy ice is likely from Arkansas to Pennsylvania. Across the South, heavy rain, flash flooding and severe thunderstorms are possible with the latter producing damaging winds and a few tornadoes. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 Multi-Day Winter Storm to Impact Central, Eastern and Southern U.S. The National Weather Service has announced a large scale and massive storm will impact Central, Eastern and Southern U.S. over the next 2 to 3 days. Heavy snow is expected from the southern Rockies to northern New England, while heavy ice is likely from Texas to Pennsylvania. Heavy rain and flooding are possible in the South and severe thunderstorms near the central Gulf Coast region.
