Grand Worldwide Logistics: About

Our modern, single story buildings totaling over 2,500,000 sq. feet are sprinkler, fire and burglar alarmed with 24-hour video surveillance as well as rail sidings on the Union Pacific, Norfolk & Southern, CSX, BNSF and key short-line railroads serving the class 1 rail companies. Our Northlake facility is a unique distribution center that provides the largest number of rail spots in the Midwest on the Union Pacific line. We have the capacity to unload up to 150 rail cars a day on a single switch throughout our network.

One of Grand’s Chicago facilities have open access to reciprocal switching on the Union Pacific for managing low cost transfer of cars from other rail operators in the central part of the country.

Material handling equipment includes an extensive fleet of forklifts (up to 15,500 lbs. capacity), slip sheet attachments, paper roll clamps and carton clamps. There are Industrial Engineers on staff supervising all aspects of inventory control, handling, and distribution. Grand Worldwide operates food grade distribution centers and currently holds and maintains a sanitation audit with the highest rating of “SUPERIOR”.

Over 20 years, our loss claims have been under 1/100th of a percent

Grand’s extensive experience and significant volume stack up to a sizeable advantage. In addition to operating domestically, we also provide international distribution. We operate U.S. Customs Bonded Warehouse facilities as well as U.S. Customs Container Freight Stations, providing significant advantages for international business moving through the United States. Grand provides drayage services as well as handling for slip-sheet, floor-loaded and palletized loads.

Using our heavy loaded container system, we can ship or receive containers from our Port locations at the maximum weight allowed by the steamship lines without raising a customer’s ocean freight cost. On average, this program would eliminate one out of every five normal weight containers. The major result would be an overall saving on transportation costs while also improving transit times and customer service

If it can be loaded onto a railcar, truck or container, Grand can handle it.
