Founding and Early Years (1984-1990)
In 1984, David Begin and Deborah Pritchard founded Chemical Marketing Concepts, Inc. (CMC) in a modest 1,200 square foot industrial garage in New Milford, Connecticut. They identified a significant service void in the chemical industry for small sample fulfillment. Early operations were centered on providing sample packaging and shipment services for large chemical manufacturers.
Expansion and Development
(1991-2000)
In 1991, Chemical Marketing Concepts, Inc. (CMC) completed a new 58,000 square foot state-of-the-art storage and repackaging facility in New Milford, Connecticut. By 1996, they expanded internationally with the opening of a European facility in Waalwijk, The Netherlands, to comply with European packaging and shipping regulations. Their service offerings grew to include handling cosmetic, food-grade, electronic, and industrial chemical samples, catering to both domestic and international shipments.
Technological Advancements and Growth (2001-2010)
CMC expanded its services to include call center operations, internet ordering capabilities, a small package sales program, cGMP packaging, and handling of temperature and light-sensitive products. With over 65 major manufacturers partnering with CMC for sample and small revenue order fulfillment, the company enhanced its operational efficiency through proprietary software systems for order processing, labeling, material handling, inventory management, and client reporting.
Acquisition and Integration (2011-Present)
In 2011, Odyssey Logistics & Technology Corporation (OL&T) acquired CMC, marking its expansion into the rapid small order fulfillment and logistics sector. The company continued its operations in New Milford, Connecticut, Shanghai, China and Waalwijk, Netherlands, employing over 100 staff members.
