April 8, 2026
To Our Valued Customer,
On Behalf of Matson:
Please be advised that the final sailings for the 2026 “Keep From Freezing” (KFF) season will be the southbound Matson Tacoma 330S departing from Anchorage on Tuesday, April 21, and the northbound Matson Kodiak 338N departing from Tacoma on Wednesday, April 22.
Customers may continue to request KFF service after these dates by marking bookings and paperwork accordingly. Some customers may wish to continue using KFF service for inland locations, such as Fairbanks, where lower temperatures may prevail. KFF surcharges will apply if this service is requested.
Please review existing bookings for future sailings to ensure KFF is correctly noted. Adjustments can be made online or by calling our Customer Service Center.
There will be a transition period after the season ends as we switch from insulated to non-insulated containers. During this time, customers may be issued a KFF container in lieu of a dry container. KFF surcharges will not apply unless an insulated container was specifically requested.
If you have any questions, please contact your Transportation Consultant or Customer Service Team at (800) 642-6664.
We thank you for your business!

Subject: Fuel Related Surcharge Increase – Hawaii / Guam / Micronesia
Dear Valued Customer,
The impact of the Middle East conflict on global oil markets has deepened since the beginning of hostilities on February 28. In response, Matson announced an initial Fuel Related Surcharge (FRSC) increase on March 26. That change went into effect on April 12, several weeks after the sudden and significant increase in fuel costs.
While the market has experienced volatility since the start of the conflict, costs have remained consistently high. We are hopeful about a resolution to the conflict, but production and supply disruption is prolonging price pressure that is likely to take considerable time to resolve. As a result of these continuing pressures, we will implement another FRSC increase next month.
Effective June 7, the FRSC for Hawaii service will increase from 28% to 31.5%, and Guam will increase from 29% to 32.5%. Effective July 12, the surcharge for Micronesia service will increase from 31% to 34.5%. For Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, the increase will be implemented on September 12.
As always, we will monitor the situation closely and will adjust the surcharge accordingly in the future.
If you have any questions, please contact your Transportation Consultant or our Customer Service Team at 800-642-6664.
Thank you for shipping with us!
